Voice as a Portal with special guest Kath Weider
Kath is a singer, vocal coach, writer and devotee of the art of improvisation and the healing power of music. She teaches vocal arts at her Studio for Vocal Alchemy in Ann Arbor, MI where she leads song circles, classes, and retreats weaving meditation, embodied play and the sacred arts of music and improvisation. You can listen to her album, Prayer Beads, here. 

In a special session of Thursdays at Ron’s, we'll enter into the voice as a portal to embodied presence, pleasure and creativity. Kath has over 25 years experience in both meditation and vocal improvisation. We will be weaving together sound practices, authentic movement & yoga of the voice to access the voice as an instrument of sacred play and contemplative prayer.

The Ocean in a Drop: Exploring Rumi’s Poetry Through Music and Chant

On Sunday, Michael & Kath will be leading a two hour workshop for musicians who love Rumi. We'll enter Rumi’s mystical verses, not just as readers, but as musicians, singers, and spiritual practitioners. Come to listen, to chant, to improvise, as we explore how Rumi's words can become seeds for new song prayers, improvisations and for the experiential knowing of non-dual, awake-awareness.
